Established in 2011, EGTS International brings together two of the world’s most respected and innovative aerospace technology companies.
EGTS International capitalizes on the two companies’ complementary product strengths – Honeywell’s auxiliary power system experience and Safran’s world-class landing gear systems. Both companies will contribute their world class expertise in electric power systems, mechanical systems and systems integration. Over 200 Honeywell and Safran engineers are working at more than 20 sites across the globe to bring our vision of greener aircraft taxiing to reality.
The EGTS system was first demonstrated during the Paris Air Show in 2013, when the EGTS test aircraft flawlessly completed a number of manoeuvres without using the main engines, taxiing and turning autonomously under its own electrical power. View Videos
In December 2013, as part of their commitment on-going research and development into future technology options, Airbus signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with EGTS International to further develop and evaluate an autonomous electric pushback and taxiing solution for the A320 Family.
